What a fantastic time we had during the Refugee Day held at RHF.

We decided to host a football fun day for refugee children and their families. We asked for donations of boots/shin pads/kits and were overwhelmed with the response that we received from our players and their families.

The Trustees wanted to give something back to these children who are resettling here after fleeing war in their own country and what better way than a whole day of football and friendship. We were determined that they would have as much fun as possible.

We welcomed around 30 children and their families and together with some RHF players they enjoyed a whole day. Even the sun shone!

We would like to say a big thank you to the Syrian Refugee Service and the North of England Refugee Service (NERS) for working with us on this and our players and their families for making them welcome.

We hope to welcome them back to RHF very soon.

As someone once said Football is a universal language!
